In August 2008 the Shannon's National HQ Round was held at Oran Park.
This was the last time the HQ's will race at Oran.

The great little  circuit that  has been host to the Super V8's and many world class
race events. The park has been sold for a housing estate.
The HQ's that came from all over Australia were welcomed by the round sponsor
Peter Green and his family  from   Don Green Engineering.
On the Saturday evening the Green Boys put on a barbecue
a chance for the boys to swap race stories.
The stories got bigger and faster as the night went on.
Sorry to see the fabulous Oran Park disappear into history.
